Do you remember our first life cycle representations? We've come a long way since then! We've learned the difference between a sequence and a cycle and all about the different stages of change and growth of our plants or animals.

Over the course of the unit, we made many sketches of our chosen life cycles. With each sketch we reflected and asked more questions. We used our class caterpillars and tadpoles, as well as non-fiction books and the internet to find information.

Finally we were ready to complete a final representation using Popplet. This tool allowed us to use real photographs of our living things -- one of the features of non-fiction texts we've been talking about. We planned to present our life cycles to our Grade 4 buddies and decided on some criteria:
VOICE:
CONTENT:
After our presentations, we did a self-assessment of our work and our buddies gave us a little bit of feedback too!
Final Representations:
VOICE:
- Loud (but not shouting)
- Clear
- Nice, not rough
- Expression
- Happy
- Confident
CONTENT:
- How the living thing comes to life
- Growth
- Change
- It's in a cycle (like a circle, life cycles repeat again and again)
- Reproduction (making more of its own kind)
- Stages
